Christmas turkey bath time!

Hi there,
Well me and my mother have just finished getting the Christmas turkey ready for the big day, it's all tucked up in its bath full of Christmas spice and splendour. Here's what we did: we took our 9kg/20lb free range Norfolk turkey and placed it in a large plastic tub it holds about 40 litres! We then filled it up to the top of the turkey with cold water, now to give it some flavour! 2 oranges quartered, juiced and put in, 250g maldon sea salt, 3 tablespoons black pepper corns, 1 bouquet garni, 1 broken cinnamon stick, 1 tablespoon caraway seeds, 4 whole garlic cloves in the skin but smashed up a bit, 5 star anise, 2 tablespoons of mustard seeds, 200g caster sugar, 3 unpeeled and quartered onions, large piece unpeeled ginger cut into large chunks, 5 tablespoons of runny honey and the same of maple syrup and then finally a bunch of bruised parsley stalks, this all goes in the bath and then we leave this for the next 3 days covered and somewhere cool . I will blog what to do next on the big day! If you would like the recipe written out email me at elliott_clarke@hotmail.co.uk and I will send you one :) stay tuned for part two x
